The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards β€” With Some Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been widespread.

The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with musical numbers about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to wait years for some of the major resolutions β€” but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season β€” especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about season 2," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season premieres on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
